Winter Landscapes and New Age Music

It's 24 degrees here today and with the wind chill it feels like 10 degrees!  Brrrr!!!  Even though it's pretty cold, I do like the change of seasons and will welcome winter ...for awhile anyway.  A hot cuppa something yummy and  a bit of relaxing music is always a nice way to spend a cold day!

Wishing you a beautiful winter!

Permission or not?

The topic of whether to get permission before sending Reiki or not seems to be quite controversial in the Reiki community.   I read one woman's opinion that if it's 'sent' it's more like a prayer because you aren't actually touching the person, so it's alright to send without permission because if the person you send to doesn't accept the energy it just won't be received and there is no harm done.  Others feel that there is no difference in Reiki done in person and Reiki being sent so it's always necessary to ask permission.  And still others feel that it's important to get permission from those who can give it but in other cases, such as with babies or young children who wouldn't understand what it is or even a person who is in a coma or unconscious and unable to respond, you can ask their parent or caretaker or make contact with the person's higher self and ask permission that way.

What do you think?

Pay It Forward Day!

There are a couple 'Pay It Forward' days, so the one I noticed on Facebook for today might not be the 'official' one, but no worries, it's okay to do kind deeds as often as possible!

OF COURSE.... if you are a Reiki practitioner it would be a wonderful idea to give or send Reiki to as many people as you can who are willing to accept it, but if you aren't going to be in contact with anyone in particular today, or don't have the time to do multiple sessions like that, you can always just send Reiki for world peace or to a situation of tragedy, maybe something you hear on t.v. or read in the news today.

There are lots of other ways to offer kindness:
*Buy someone a cup a coffee, and if you patronize Starbucks today, they will donate .05 per drink sold to World Aids Day, which is also today!  And they have a Red program if you are interested in other ways to help the cause.

*If you are eating out somewhere, and the service is very good or excellent, ask to speak to the manager and tell them you appreciate your server and their hard work!   And if you can afford it, leave a little extra tip!

*Hold a door open for someone, and smile as you do it.

*Call someone you love and tell them!

It doesn't have to cost alot of money to do a few good deeds.  Sure, it would be awesome if you could afford to do something financially for someone, make a donation, buy an item that a person really needs, some groceries or gas, etc. but the point is ... those random acts of kindness no matter how big or small have value and go a long way!

Yesterday, I was in a craft store and I heard the woman ahead of me in line say something about forgetting her coupon.  I had some with me and offered them to her.  She really appreciated it.  Such a small thing, but it made her happy and it made me happy.  Win/Win!!!  Maybe she went on about her day and did something nice for someone else.  That's the ripple effect!  Imagine how wonderful it would be if that was happening all over the planet every day!   It starts with you... with me....
together we can make a difference don't you think?!
