Sand Mandalas

Isn't this fascinating!?!  I used to love to color and I've seen Mandala coloring books in the craft store so  I think I might like to get one!  Yeah, they sell sand there too, but I'm not ready for a project that big!  I think it would be very calming to just color them on paper.

New books!

There are 3 large bookcases in our living room.  Probably 95% of the books (okay, who am I kidding, 99%) are mine.  Included are about 10 or so Reiki books.
These are the latest 2 that I purchased and I'm really glad I did.  The blue one, 'The Hayashi Reiki Manual' has a wonderful large sequence of photos showing various hand positions and assorted treatments for various illnesses and ailments.  The book focuses on Chujiro Hayashi, the famous student of Mikao Usui, and his techniques.  It's co-authored by Tadao Yamaguchi (the son of a woman initiated to Reiki by Hayashi Sensei) and Frank Arjava Petter, the first to bring traditional Reiki from Japan to the West after training with Tadao and his mother.

The red book, 'Light on the Origins of REIKI' is simply... delightful!  Learning about the mother and son who founded the 'Jikiden Reiki Institute' and their experiences has been such a pleasure.  I haven't finished it, but what I have read so-far has really touched me.  Taking a step back in time, learning about the traditional ways and practices of Usui and Hayashi is important to me.  When I start teaching, I definitely would like to share some of this information.

Do you read alot?  If so, what are your favorite type books to buy or borrow?  Do you have any good Reiki ones?
